BabyStar New Year

Lucario Jr., Cubone, Morrigan, and Riolu all sat in the clubhouse together with snacks, sodas, and other assortments of treats and party favors. The four smiled as they played Go Catch and prepared for the next thirty minutes for the new year.

Lucario Jr. looked at his cards then looked at Cubone. “You excited for the new year?”

Cubone shrugged. “Well, I guess. I just hope nothing bad happens.”

Lucario Jr. giggled. “Nothing bad’s gonna happen this year. A really good thing happened. Caitlin and Daddy got to meet two new trainers when they were traveling. Pique and Obi really do become closer like family every day now.”

Riolu smiled. “That’s good. Another good thing that happened was we got to spend time with each other everyday.”

Morrigan nodded in agreement. “And we have more fun every single day.”

Lucario Jr. smiled and nodded.

It was already 11:59, the gang was preparing to see the fireworks, but decided to look back on the previous moments of the year.

Riolu smiled. “Remember when were staying in that daycare center and we met John and you were diapered accidently, Lucario Jr.?” He chuckled, remembering that time when one of the workers mistook Lucario Jr. for John.

Lucario Jr. blushed heavily. “Please don’t remind me.”

Morrigan started laughing. “Oh! I definitely remember when My daddy, and uncles, Ross, Rupert, and Vincent all played Princess Tea Party with me.” She giggled remembering that day. “It was fun!”

Cubone smiled. “I remember when I met you guys and I was taken in by Sheldon until I found a family. Maybe I’ll get one this year.” His hopes were high as he thought of his family, a mom and a dad and maybe even a few siblings here and there.

Lucario Jr. smiled. “I remember a lot of good things this past year. I got to meet some new friends, I got to spend all my days with you guys, I got to meet Caitlin and Daddy’s new friends and maybe even see them as family too one day, and I get to spend the very last day of the old year with you guys.” He placed his friends in a group hug as they all happily joined in.

There was only ten seconds left and everyone looked at each other and nodded. Cubone smiled. “Only ten seconds left.” It was half way there.

Cubone’s tail started to wag. “Five…”

“Four…” Morrigan joined in the count down.

“Three…” Riolu became excited.

“Two…” Lucario Jr became more and more excited.

The fireworks shot up in the air.

“ONE!!!” The gang shouted and cheered. “HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!”
