Chapter 5 Kidnapped!


Aaron taped the diaper securely around the Riolu’s waste and patted the tiny pup on the head. “There we go. Feeling better, little guy?”

Sheldon cooed and tried a failed attempt to hide face with his tiny puppy paws. “Aww, you are just the cutest little thing, aren’t you now?” Aaron responded to the infant Pokemon’s adorable display.

He lifted the Riolu from the changing table and held him in his arms, trying to support his whole body and striving not to drop the pup.

“How about we see Caitlin?” Sheldon cooed and squealed at Aaron’s request. Aaron laughed a bit taking Sheldon’s answer as a yes.

He walked over to the couch to see Caitlin, still holding Lucario in her arms. “How’s Lucario?” Aaron questioned sitting next to the young trainer.

He noticed the baby Lucario’s eyes were closed and had his thumb in his mouth. “He’s doing fine. He finished his bottle and he got tired so I decided to sing him a lullaby and rock him to sleep.”

“Caitlin, you didn’t have to--” Aaron began. “No, no. It’s fine, I’ve done this more than once with a lot of baby Pokemon. So it’s okay, Aaron. I don’t mind it.” Aaron smiled and leaned back in the couch. “Well, if you say so.”

Caitlin nodded and gently placed Lucario in the basket, striving not to awaken the little one from his slumber. Sheldon soon meet eyes with his trainer, once he caught her in his sights, he reached out for her and whined.

Aaron looked at Sheldon and chuckled lightly. “Okay, okay.” He then handed the Riolu to Caitlin.

She held him in her arms and giggled. “He really likes me.” The Riolu cooed and snuggles against his trainer’s chest, reminding him of his mother and how warm and soft her arms and fur used to be. “It seems more like he loves you than like’s you. He probably thinks you’re his mother.”

Caitlin laughed a bit in response. “I guess so.”

After careful calculations to their plan, Team Rocket centered around each other, repeating the plan carefully to one and other, making sure they knew the entire plan.

“First, we lure her Pokemon with the treats, then we take the baby Pokemon while they aren’t looking, then we take them and put them in cages like animals then we send ‘em to the boss.” Meowth repeated the plan.

Jessie and James nodded. The team laid out a small trail of berries and inside a cage.

It started to work as most of the Pokemon entered the cage and were hypnotized by the sensation of the berries. The only Pokemon that weren’t really convinced, were Sparkles the Pikachu and Lady the Eevee.

It would take more than berries to bamboozle them into Team Rocket’s cage. Sparkles ran inside trying to get Caitlin and Aaron’s attention. Lady lended a helping hand with Sparkles. The two barked and yelped trying to get their attention to tell them something was very off.

Caitlin looked over to the door. “Aaron, could you see what’s going with Sparkles and Lady. I think those two are just little balls of fire today.”

Aaron nodded and opened the door and knelt down to their level. “Is there something wrong, little fellas?” The two Pokemon scowled at the young knight. “Oh, excuse me. Little ladies.” He smiled and pretended to bow as if they were royalty.

Lady and Pikachu nodded and smiled in the corrected term. But the moment didn’t last for long, the two small Pokemon bounced and failed about trying to warn Aaron about Team Rocket.

Aaron was a bit confused. He turned to Caitlin. “I think they want us to follow them near those bushes.” Caitlin nodded. “We’d better bring Lucario and Sheldon along with us just in case.” Aaron walked over towards Lucario and gently picked him up, trying to not wake him up.

He then nodded at Caitlin, indicating that he was ready. The two headed out to the barn house to see only bushes. There wasn’t any rustling, nothing.

Caitlin staired at her Eevee and Pikachu. “You two must’ve ate too many PokéBlocks again.” Sparkles and Lady sighed and hung their heads in shame.

A sudden smoke screen filled the air, ‘cause the group to slightly suffocate. Lucario slowly began opening his eyes and rubbed them gently, cooing softly. His vision soon became clear, but not clear enough to see through the fog.

Aaron held on to Lucario tightly and close towards his chest, trying to keep him safe from whatever was up to this. “Who’s there?” Caitlin coughed and tried to speak. “What’s going on?” She uttered between coughs.

“Prepare for trouble.” A female voice answered.

“Make it double.” A male voice added.

Caitlin sighed. Of all the people, it had to be those three. “Yeah, yeah. We get it. To protect the world from devastation. To unite all people, blah, blah, blah. Team Rocket, blah, blah. Meowth, blah blah.” She ceased Team Rocket’s original motto introduction.

The fog eventually cleared to reveal Jessie, James, and Meowth. The three smirked at the two trainers. James chuckled. “Well, isn’t the redhead a little egghead. But smarts aren’t going to save you this time!” James taunted wagging his index finger at the trainers.

Aaron looked at Caitlin with a confused expression. “Who are these guys?” Caitlin turned to Aaron. “They’re bad people who steal other Pokemon from trainers. We can’t let them get Sheldon or Lucario.”

Jessie proceeded to walk towards the two trainers. “It’s going to be too late, little girl. Your precious Riolu will be a perfect pet for the boss. Just like his mother’s blue fluff was a perfect for Veronica’s new fashion style!” Jessie seemed to sound rather cheerful and prideful in hopefully capturing Lucario and Sheldon.

Caitlin started putting the puzzle pieces together. “What?! You mean your stupid members and teammates killed Sheldon’s mother?!” The young trainer became infuriated with a fiery rage.

Jessie and James both masked on fake sorrowful faces. “It was such a horrible tragedy. That horrible accident was like a nightmare” Jessie pretended to weep. James held up a handkerchief in his hand, pretending to be as sorrowful as Jessie was. “We couldn’t sleep that night.”

Aaron lowered his head, looking towards the ground. “Save your false tears for when your leader abandons you.” Aaron slowly lifted his head. “You three are worse than the enemies I encountered. Killing a Pokemon is one thing, but a mother trying to defend her own child, that sickens me.”

The three started laughing. “Trying to be a brave knight in shining armor are we know?” James taunted. Aaron’s eyes narrowed at James.

Aaron held Lucario tightly in his arms. “I won’t you take Lucario away from me! And Caitlin won’t let you take Sheldon away from her!”

Aaron turned to Caitlin. “Let Sparkles and Lady take Sheldon and Lucario away from here!”

Caitlin nodded and kissed Sheldon on the forehead and put a light blue bandana around his neck but keeping it loose enough for him to breath. “So everyone will know you have a trainer. I love you, Sheldon.” She whispered softly and placed the Riolu in a wagon with the Pikachu and the Eevee as the the they had the harrasses strapped tightly around their toroses.

Aaron placed Lucario next to Sheldon putting a puppy collar around his neck. “Just in case someone wonders if you have an owner. Caitlin and I are counting on you to take care of Sheldon. Good luck, Lucario. Until we meet again.” Lucario grew more and more confused as to what was happening.

Sparkles and Lady started off into the forest, rushing to get away from Team Rocket. Caitlin and Aaron nodded. This time, this task was serious.

Jessie, James, and Meowth soon returned with Caitlin, Aaron, and the captured Pokemon. Giovanni seemed to be pleased with them. “You three actually did something right this time. I’m rather proud.” He turned to Aaron and Caitlin.

A chill smirk came to his face. “I know you hid the Riolu somewhere, child. Tell me where he is.” Caitlin glared at the man. “I ain’t telling you nothing!”

Aaron’s glance was glued to the floor. “You only want Sheldon to kill him or turn him into one of you, the same would’ve been for Lucario.” He rose his head and glanced at Giovanni. “But we won’t tell you where they are! We kept our promises to protect them both, we won’t let you do this!”

Giovanni angrily glared at the young trainers, then smiled menacingly, and started off chucking, the devilish chuckle grew into a malicious laughter. “That is rather humorous to see a child treating their own Pokemon as if they were their own child or family member.” Caitlin glared angrily at the man.

“Pokemon were brought in to this world for only one purpose: To obey humans and to be enslaved by humans!” Giovanni lightly waved his hand in a “shoo-away” motion. “Take them away, we are going to need them after all.” The Rocket Grunts obeyed their commander. Giovanni smirked in a malicious way only a true villain would.

Sparkles and Lady soon ceased their running. They both panted in exhaustion and fatigue. Sheldon looked over his shoulders in fear. “Wh-why did you two stop?” Sparkles turned around to eye the little Riolu. “We’re tired and we can’t run anymore. We need to find a place to rest.”

“What about Caitlin and Aaron?” Lady hopped on the wagon and placed a paw on his shoulder. “They’ll be okay, Sheldon. We promise.”

Sheldon lightly shoved Lady away. “You don’t know that!” Tears began to swell in the Riolu’s eyes. Lucario slowly crawled over to Sheldon, and almost instantly hugged him in a brotherly embrace. “Don’t worry, they’re going to be okay. I’m sure of it.” Sheldon held on to Lucario tightly. He sobbed lightly.

Sparkles stood on all fours again. “Well, we’ll take a break here. But until then, we need to find a near by Pokemon Center or something.” Lady looked back at Lucario and Sheldon then back at Sparkles. “I think I know where we should go.”

Sparkles’ ears perked up, almost touching the clouds in the sky. “Where is it?” Lady smiled and pulled out an emergency kit that was needed incase of an emergency; and this was truly a BIG emergency. “I’ll lead the way to it, Sparkles. You just need to follow me.”

Sparkles glanced at Lady, then at Lucario and Sheldon, then back at Lady and nodded. “As long as we get these two somewhere safe; I’ll trust you on this.” Lady smiled and nuzzled her friend. “Thanks, sis. You’re the best.” Sparkles chuckled as the female Eevee continued to nuzzle her under chin and rosey cheek.
