Anubis the ZombieCario

I've always wanted a lucario, but I'll never look at one the same way ever again. It all started when my best friend, Riley and his lucario offered to let me stay for a while, my female lucario, Rose, grew with a wonderful bond with Riley's lucario. A few days after that, they had an egg, which hatched almost immediately.

He was a cute little riolu, Riley gave him to me for an early birthday present. I named the little guy Anubis, because it sounded right. Anubis bonded quickly and very well with Rose, but never bonded with Riley's lucario. Lucario wanted to bond with Anubis, but never allowed Lucario to bond or even go near Rose.

But Riley had a strange feeling that there was something wrong with Anubis. It started one day when we were in Hearthome City, Riley was invited with my other friend Dawn to join him in a double team contest. He entered with her while Rose, Anubis and I went into the poffin shop with my other good friend Maylene and her lucario.

Rose went into the poffin shop with us, Maylene's lucario was holding Anubis in his arms, when Rose left him, he bursted out crying, Maylene's lucario tried everything to calm him down. It had been hours upon hours of making many perfect poffins, was finally complete. The Pokemon contest would end soon, we all kept our fingers crossed that Riley and Dawn would win the contest.

Suddenly a cry of pain and horror pounded against our ear drums, we hurried outside and saw Maylene's lucario on the ground with bruises and cuts all over his body. Anubis right in front of him with a tear stained face, he ran over to Rose.

Maylene picked up her lucario and carried him all the way to the Pokemon Center, I ran to where the contest was held and told Riley and Dawn. We all ran to the Center, Maylene was rather worried.

"Nurse Joy said that Lucario was gonna be okay, but didn't know who was hurting it like that. He was with Anubis the entire time."

Riley's lucario looked out the window, seeing Anubis in Rose's arms. He's suspicion grew a little more than what it really was before Anubis didn't allow him near Rose or even Anubis himself.



Many years past, Anubis evolved into a lucario and was able to talk the way humans, but still had a strong bond with Rose.

He still never let his father near Rose or himself. Riley was concerned at this point. "Ya know, Abby, I was thinking that Anubis would grow out of his infancy after he evolved....I wonder if Lucario and Rose had a bad egg...."

"RILEY!" My shouting straddled him a little. "Anubis wasn't a bad egg! He's a special needs lucario!"

I've heard of people with special needs, but I've never heard of any or just one Pokemon with special needs. I just figured that Anubis was a mama's boy like most Pokemon I've had so far.

Months later Rose was deathly ill, Anubis and Lucario didn't take it so well, neither did I or even Riley. Anubis didn't take it as well as I thought he would. When she died, we set up a perfect funeral for her, Anubis cried through out the whole funeral.

"Mommy....mommy.....mommy.....mommy....." He whispered softly to himself for hours.

It seemed like a century that Anubis moaned for Rose. Lucario didn't go near Anubis, everytime he looked at him it was more like a death glare to his father. "You let mommy die!" He hissed at his father.

Lucario grew more scared and was away form his own son for a long period of time. It was then I decided that I would be Anubis's mother for a while, it wasn't long 'til he started calling me "mommy."

Years past, Anubis was grow up to be a young lucario almost ready to leave his mother, but he didn't want to.

"Anubis, you're growing up to be a man, you don't need to be with your mommy as often as you want to." I kept saying this to Anubis at least once a day, his response. "I don't want to leave you, mommy." He looked up at me with a cute face.

"Mommy, please don't abandon or leave me." Tears rolled down his face and my answer was always.

"Mommy won't leave you, Anubis. Mommy loves you too much."

"I love you too, mommy." Was always Anubis's answer.


But one day, Riley's worst nightmare was upon him. We left Iron Island only to go to the PokéMart for some supplies. Anubis was on my leg and saying. "Mommy! Don't leave me! You said you wouldn't leave me! Mommy!!"

"Anubis, I'm only going to be gone for a few minutes or so. You've got daddy to keep you company." He let go of my leg and stood back up on his feet and turned to Lucario.

"I don't have a daddy!" "(What are you going to do?)" Lucario was twice as timid as he ever was before Rose died. "What I should've done to you after my real mommy died! You let her die!"




As soon as Riley and I got back from the PokéMart in Veilstone City, Lucario was on the ground barely breathing. Riley dropped his supplies and ran toward his old friend. "LUCARIO! DON'T DIE! PLEASE!"

I called the nearest Pokemon Center and called an ambulance, they came as soon as they could. Riley told me to stay with Anubis while he was in the ER at the Pokemon Center with Lucario.

I was okay with that, I wanted to talk to Anubis anyway. "Anubis, tell mommy the truth...did you or didn't you hurt daddy?"

Anubis stared at me, he was acting like he could stare in my soul. "I have no daddy, and yes, I did mommy."

"Why?"

Anubis had tears running down his face, but it was more like blood, I was thinking he had a disease that made his eyes bleed. "He let mommy die!"

"No, he was doing the best he could to keep Rose alive. Are you sorry for what you did?"

Anubis was a little annoyed and angered at the same time. "NO! He deserved it! It was the right thing to do! It was what my real mommy would've wanted me to do!"

I was in a shocking trans, Anubis was saying that it was what Rose would've wanted. He had no father. He wasn't sorry for what he did.

I just went to bed I didn't look at him, but all I could say to him was "I'm disappointed in you."

Then walked away and was in bed by the time Riley and Lucario came home, Anubis slept outside, crying himself to sleep. He looked up at the stars, seeing a consultation of Rose.

"I'm sorry, mommy! I'm sorry, mommy! I'm sorry, mommy!" He repeated over and over.

The next morning I went to see if Anubis was okay. Both he and Lucario mysteriously disappeared, not leaving a clue or anything to let me or Riley know where they were, what happened to them, or anything. I broke down in tears. Riley was doing his best to comfort me, but to no success.




Years past, Riley and I gave up on searching for Anubis and Lucario. But all gave me a life scarring living nightmare when I was at the graveyard visiting Rose's grave. I was about to rub the engravings with my finger tips when I heard "LEAVE MOMMY ALONE!!!"

I turned my head, I recognized the voice, it was Anubis! I tried to find him everywhere but couldn't see him in all the fog. I finally reached an old oak tree, it was as dead as a doornail. Anubis was behind that tree all I could see was his ear.

"Anubis, mommy is sorry for what she did, please forgive mommy!"

His voice was ghastly. "You're not mommy! You're the meanie that took her away from me!"

Fear grew inside me. When Anubis came from behind the tree and walked up toward me, he was completely gorey. His left eye was missing with a patch of his skull, his right arm was all bone, his left ribs were showing, but with no organs, and his chest spike looked like the sharp end of it was broken or cut off, he had scars on his thighs and lower legs, and his tail was all bone as well as his right arm.

"Anubis...your mommy was deathly ill! There wasn't anything I could do!"

"You let mommy die!" He suddenly had a demonic grin planted on his face. "But do you really want to be my mommy! I want my mommy!"

I timidly nodded.

"Do you like my new look! I did this all for you, mommy!"

I didn't now what to think at this point when he asked me that. "No! I didn't want you to be a zombie!"

He grew twice as anger before he mysteriously disappeared. "I DID IT ALL FOR YOU, MOMMY! LOVE ME! LOVE ME LIKE THIS, MOMMY!" I started running back to Riley's place.

The door was strangely unlocked, but I found Riley's keys and locked the door. I didn't know what to do, it was midnight, Riley was missing now. I was scared of almost everything now.

Even my own baby riolu, Anubis. His gorey image and ghastly voice was in my mind for a long period of time.


Now that I see anytime of mother figure die, I'll always hear Anubis's voice saying only the same words he kept saying after Rose passed on.

"You let mommy die!"
